Training Aids - get the 'know-how!'
ImageTraining aids are not just for beginners, they are brilliant tools for improving your stroke, developing technique, building strength and adding variety to your Swim4Fitness® training sessions.

Hand paddles create extra resistance which means your arms, shoulders and back have to work harder to pull you through the water, 'giving you faster results'.

Make sure you build into using paddles gradually while incorporating them into your regular routine. Paddles are ideal for front crawl and back stroke, but they´ll also help your breast stroke and butterfly when wearing them for short periods during a work out.  You can also use them alongside a pull buoy if you’re looking for a really fierce work out.

Zoggs has two types of paddles: Flexi-paddles™ replicate the natural contour of your hands, improving stroke technique whilst reducing the risk of shoulder strain and injury.

Looking to accelerate leg strength, improve your kicking technique and build confidence in the water? If so, you need a Kickboard.  Simply hold the top of the board and rest your arms on it so that your upper body is relaxed, then focus on using your legs without creating too much splash; kicking power comes from the motion under the water, not the splash on top! Start with short distances and build up as your legs get stronger.

Streamlined kickboards are aqua-dynamically designed for improved efficiency in the water.Image

Pull Buoys are a great way of developing upper body strength as well as allowing you to rest your legs whilst maintaining a natural body position in the water.  You will find that you tire more slowly and will be capable of swimming greater distances by introducing  a Pull buoy into your training routine. You will also be able to really concentrate on your technique and Pone the muscles in your shoulders, arms and back. Pull Buoys are designed to fit between your thighs and should be comfortable to use. Please note that It is not recommended to use a Pull buoy when swimming breaststroke.

And finally, what do you get when you cross a kick board and a pull buoy? Something no pool workout should be without - the rather impressive Kick-buoy. This nifty piece of kit combines two essential training aids to make one effective product, plus it saves space in your gym bag.
